Passing of a Life Member

I’m sadden to inform you all that fellow member Noel Bullimore passed away peacefully last night (6th May) after suffering a recent fall.

Noel was born on Christmas Day 1922 and celebrated his 90th birthday last year. His first involvement with the Brisbane club was just after he retired (as a carpenter) building trap house after trap house. Noel was rewarded with a Life Membership in 1989 in the attached photo Noel is in the centre of the photo.

In the early days Noel and Denis were very keen DTL shooters but both loved ducking shooting which got them hooked on Sporting Clays. Noel always had a dog with him whenever he came to the range for a shot. The club has seen a few great dogs broken in under the shotgun of Noel Bullimore. Personally a black curly coat name Jack was my favourite.

Noel was a State Team member many times and represented our state with pride and determination.

He had a personal battle with a Billy Fields but won the National Veteran Champion at the Penguin, Tasmania nationals in 1989.

Noel has continued to shoot until recently and I know from now on he will be up at first light with his dog and his favourite semi-auto and giving those ducks hell out on a dam somewhere.

Our thoughts and best wishes go out to Noel’s family at this sad time specially to Denis and Kylie our thoughts are with you both.
